Regulatory development
The supply of betting and gaming services continues to be subject to a complex and inconsistent approach by jurisdictions worldwide. However, action to address this by international trade bodies (such as the World Trade Organisation and the European Commission) and the increasing acceptance that online gambling should be licensed has increasingly led to the introduction of regulatory regimes.
The Group aims to obtain licenses in every jurisdiction in which it operates as national regulatory regimes are introduced. The Group currently maintains licenses in Australia, Spain, Alderney, Denmark, Italy, Malta, South Africa and the UK.
In addition the Group is paying gambling duty ahead of the introduction of licensing regimes in Greece and Germany.
