Andrew McIver

Andrew McIver

Group Chief Executive

Andrew joined Sportingbet in December 2001 as Group Finance Director.  In October 2006, after four and a half years in this role, Andrew took over the role of Group Chief Executive for the Sportingbet Group from Nigel Payne.  Nigel has since become a Non-Executive Director of the Company.

In his tenure as Group Finance Director, Andrew changed the financial outlook for Sportingbet.  From the introduction of cash flow reporting and a five year financial model, to the vast improvement of Key Performance Indicator analyses, Andrew's influence on the way Sportingbet produces its accounts has been transforming.

Andrew took the lead in business areas like corporate governance, investor relations, tax structuring and payment processing by improving existing systems and implementing new systems.
In 2002, Andrew was heavily involved in the acquisition of UK bookmaker, SportingOdds.com.  The complementary nature of this acquisition has transformed Sportingbet's European business.  But Andrew's biggest achievement to date was to lead the company through the acquisition of Paradisepoker.com in November 2004.

Aged 46, Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen, and after a brief stint in investment banking, held senior finance positions at Signet Group Plc, Ladbrokes Group Plc and British Telecom's Internet division.  He was Director of Finance at  House of Fraser Plc for four years prior to joining Sportingbet.
