Change to Board of Directors

6 Sep 2011

Sportingbet is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Moss as a non-executive director of the Company, with immediate effect.

Mr. Moss has over 25 years marketing and brand management experience. He started his marketing career at Virgin Atlantic in 1985, the year after the airline was founded, and rose to the position of Marketing Director. During his eight years at the company it grew rapidly and Mr. Moss introduced a number of innovative products including the concept of “Premium Economy” which created a brand awareness for the airline well ahead of its size.

He then joined mobile telecommunications company Microtel, and was responsible for founding and launching the Orange brand name. Subsequent to this role he joined Lloyds Bank and TSB where, as Brand Director, he was responsible for the launch of the LloydsTSB brand.

When the UK directory enquiries market deregulated in 2002, Mr Moss joined a consortium of US investors, InfoNXX, to lead a bid team under “The Number” banner. InfoNXX owned the “118 118” number and, despite being heavily outspent in terms of marketing budget by the competition, secured a market leadership position. Mr Moss worked in a variety of roles at InfoNXX (subsequently re-branded KGB) from 2002-2010, including Creative Chairman in the USA and Europe, CEO of Internet, and CEO of The Number (118 118).

Mr. Moss also runs a brand consultancy called Famoss, and is part of Untap.it, a not-for-profit social enterprise.  Besides his brand, marketing, social and digital media expertise, Mr. Moss also serves on a variety of advisory boards both in the US and UK with museums and charities.

The following disclosure is made in accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.13: Mr. Chris Moss is not currently nor has been in the last five years a director of a publicly quoted company.

This announcement follows the appointment of Mr. Rory Macnamara as a non-executive director on 27 June 2011. Mr. Macnamara and Mr. Moss replace non-executive directors Mr. Nigel Payne and Mr. Sean O’Connor who will retire from the Board at the Company’s Annual General Meeting on 16 December 2011.

Peter Dicks, Chairman of Sportingbet, said:

“I am delighted to welcome Chris to the Board given his extensive marketing expertise that covers both traditional channels and new, evolving practices in the social and digital media arena.  He has both hands-on management experience spanning international markets and advisory knowledge that Sportingbet can draw on as it continues to grow.”
